NBA to Allow Nicknames on Jerseys Next Season? Maybe...

Do you already have your white, red, black, retro and Hispanic LeBron James jersey? Well--it appears that you may have the opportunity to buy yet another--and different-- jersey for King James.

Rumor has it that the NBA is looking to take a page out of the old XFL's book and go allow players to go with nicknames on the back of their jerseys.

Okay; that's kind of cool. I wouldn't mind getting a James 'Fear the Beard' Harden jersey--but no. The NBA is just having the Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets do it and only for one select game this coming season.

You know. So they can test it out; see if fans like it.

I'm sure it is just a coincidence that they happened to pick the Heat and a team from the largest market in the country.
