Rice Kicker Pulls Off a Move NFL Kickers Need to Learn

Normally, when it comes to athletics at Rice folks think baseball first, but the football team is starting to make people take notice. There is some talent on the squad-- like quarterback Taylor McHargue and wide receiver Turner Petersen to name two-- that is capable of making some big plays.

Last Saturday against the Houston Cougars the best play did not come from one of them. No, it came from an unlikely source--the kicker.

The Owls were obviously going to try an onside kick in this situation; that was no question. However, since the percentage of onside kicks recovered is so low the Owls decided to try something a little different.

Now maybe this is a move that other guys do. I've never seen or heard of it before. That being said, it is one that every NFL kicker needs to learn now. It is that awesome.

Well done Chris Boswell. Well done.
