Colorado Comes Up With What Could be the Most Effective Game Promotion Yet

When it comes to getting fans in the stands for men's college basketball games the majority of schools do not have a hard time. Women's games are an entirely different story though, and this season some teams are pulling out all the stops to get fans to show up to women's games as well as the men's.

A couple of school's have come up with some great ones (free bacon; free beer), but I think that Colorado has come up with what will be the most efficient one yet--Andrew Wiggins.

This Saturday Andrew Wiggins and the Kansas Jayhawks come into town--easily the must see game of the season. The men's team is 4-1 this season and are coming off two straight appearances in the NCAA tournament--so they don't suck and should be able to give Kansas a game.

If they don't that's okay because everyone will be going to see the future No. 1 pick in the draft play (that's Wiggins), but if fans want to they will have to go see the women's game on Wednesday first.

It's not like the women's team is bad. They are coming off a pretty good season last year that saw the ladies finish No. 19 in the nation. However, since men's basketball tends to dominate the scene and women's doesn't always get the attention it deserves.

But on Wednesday at the Coors Event Center in Boulder that will likely not be the case.
