Dallas Cowboys Making a Big Change for Annual Thanksgiving Game

Fans of the Dallas Cowboys have seen it before. A handful of games left, tied for the division lead, playoff hopes in their own hands (in spite of erratic play from the team), and than it slowly falls apart. Not this year though. No, this year is going to be different. This year the team is going to rise above, play well, and maintain control over their own destiny.

And it starts with making a big change for the annual Thanksgiving game.

The uniforms.

Yeah, sorry for building that up to be more than it is, but the team is going to have to forego their usual Turkey Day garb for their usual home team attire.

It has nothing to do with any silly superstition or anything that they are trying to break (no Vanilla Ice like scenario here). A new league rule is forcing their hand. Players have to wear the same helmet throughout the entire season which pretty much puts an end to true throwback uniforms (some teams have gone ahead with their throwbacks minus the helmet).

It's supposed to be a safety issue somehow. I don't see it, but it's a rule and the Cowboys have to follow it like everyone else.
