Dallas Cowboys May Lose Lance Dunbar for the Season

The NFL has become a passer's league, but there is one thing that a team still has to have if it wants to be a true contender--a running game. If you can't control the ball and keep it away from your opponents when you need to most winning is going to be a lot harder.

Against the Oakland Raiders on Thanksgiving it appeared as if the Dallas Cowboys might finally have one, but than this happened.

Word on Friday is that it was hyper-extended and that he suffered a posterior lateral corner injury that will require surgery to repair. The question appears to be whether they will put him on the IR and end his season or hold out hope that he could return in the post season.

His loss is a big one for the Cowboys. DeMarco Murray has not shown the ability to carry the running game by himself, but combined with Dunbar the duo gained 145 yards on the ground. The Cowboys are averaging just 85 yards a game (No. 27).
