LSU Almost Gives Arkansas First SEC Win of the Year

Karma has been biting the Arkansas Razorbacks on the behind ever since that word was tweeted many weeks ago. For most of Friday's game it looked as if the team was going to overcome it; that they might actually win. After a rough season getting their first and only conference win of the year against a solid team like LSU would be a nice finish.

But than karma struck again.

Arkansas was right in the thick of it from the onset, and after the first half even had a lead (17-14). Going into the fourth quarter the Razorbacks had a six point lead (27-21), and while the offense was not doing much the defense appeared ready to carry the team.

When they knocked LSU's senior quarterback, Zach Mettenberger, out of the game it looked as if the fate of the Tigers was sealed.

But the the offense failed when the defense needed it most. Two three and out possessions gave LSU the opportunity it needed to close the gap. Whenever you give a good team a chance more often than not they will take advantage of it.

And the Tigers did.

A lot of football fans probably had not heard of Anthony Jennings (2-3, 23 yards) or Travin Dural (96 yards, 1 TD on the season), but after the duo connected for the game winning 49-yard touchdown pass everyone is going to be talking about them!

Final score: LSU 31   Arkansas 27
