Gary Kubiak Has Set the Stage for Kevin Sumlin to Take Over in Houston

Folks in College Station will not like to hear this, but after last Sunday the stage is set for Kevin Sumlin to take over the Houston Texans.

Gary Kubiak has had a good run in Houston, but with the way this season has gone it would be shocking to see him back on the sideline next year for the Texans. The team has not been prepared, discipline is poor (Sunday’s five-yard penalty on 4th and goal from the two is proof of that), and his decision making in regards to personnel has come under question.

Why on Earth did he pull Case Keenum for Matt Schaub? Keenum was playing fine and Schaub’s confidence is at an all-time low. Since nothing was broken what was he trying to fix? As if that move wasn’t enough he has already stated that Keenum will start this coming Sunday.

While the move will appease fans you have to wonder how short the leash will be this time. Kubiak has made a mess of the team; that much is clear. So why does this mean the stage is set for Texas A&M’s head coach—Kevin Sumlin—to take over?...
