Jerry Glanville Getting Back in the Game?

Now kids, I don't expect too many of you to know who Jerry Glanville is, but Mom and Dad will likely remember the former Houston Oilers and Atlanta Falcons Head Coach from the 1980's and 90's. It's been awhile since he's been on a sideline, but the Man in Black want back in.

He wants to coach--and he's already thrown his hat into the ring somewhere!

He's not shooting for the big time--the NFL or a major college--but a mid-major FBS program, Eastern Michigan.

I haven't seen any reason why he is trying to get back into football after being away from the sideline since 2009, his final season with Portland State. He had a short gig of some kind with one of the UFL teams, but those guys never knew if they were coming or going.

Whatever his reason EMU could do a lot worse--or at least a lot duller. Ole Jerry was famous for leaving tickets at Will Call for Elvis as well as other celebrities that have passed on (or so we think...). He was never one to hold his tongue either, and has even been credited with originating the 'NFL means not for long.'

He was talking about a first year ref when he said it: "This is N-F-L, which stands for 'not for long' when you make them *uckin' calls."

At 72 I doubt he's changed his ways!
