The Tampa Bay Lightning are off to a good start this season, but will likely find the road ahead a lot tougher after Monday's early game against the Boston Bruins.
Steven Stamkos broke his right leg (tibia) after sliding into the net during the second period. You can see his right shin appear to snap back. In typical tough guy fashion (and I say that with the greatest respect) he tried to get up and make his way off the ice but the pain was a bit much and he fell back to the ice.
Losing him is going to hurt the Lightning pretty bad as well. When the day started Stamkos was tied for the lead in goals scored this season with Sidney Crosby.
