LSU May Have Actually Done Texas A&M a Favor

I know the idea sounds pretty out there, but if you look at the game and the future of the program it might actually be true.

November 23 was not a fun day for Texas A&M. The weather sucked, but more importantly the football team—well, it wasn’t very good. The defense continued to struggle against the run giving up 324 yards to the Tigers. For a change, Johnny Manziel and the offense never got on track gaining just 299 total yards.

"We just got punched in the mouth tonight and it wasn't fun," Manziel said. "It wasn't fun to get beat like that…”

Of course it wasn’t. It was even less fun to watch it, and with an even tougher Missouri team on deck the team could be looking at an 8-4 finish to the regular season and out of the top 25.

So how on Earth could that be a good thing?

Ever since last season Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin has been a hot commodity for NFL vacancies. After four good seasons at Houston and an incredible first year for the Aggies it made sense. Now with the Houston Texans looking like they will be in need of new leadership by the end of the season the perfect stage could be set for him to make that jump....
