The way that Mack Brown's eventual announcement that he was stepping down came about was pretty crappy, but it has given him, the school, and the fans a chance that normally does not happen--a couple of weeks to say goodbye to someone that has done a lot for the program over the last 16 years.

It hasn't all been good of course. While the initial story presented made it seem that stepping down was Brown's choice, there has since been another story that has made the rounds claiming otherwise. Is it true or did Mack tell us the truth? Only Mack and the unnamed source know.
In the end it doesn't matter, and it is nice to see that story has fallen by the wayside fairly quick. Instead we are seeing more of what we should, and that's respect being given where it is due--like with the simple but to the point billboard on a local Texas highway (see above).
Like anything else in the sports world there has even been a couple of t-shirts made in honor of Brown:

Are they official university attire? I don't know, but that's not the point. It's all about saying thanks, and next to parades and tribute videos we say it best sometimes in t-shirts.
Now what I want to see is a drinking game developed for the Alamo Bowl based on how many times the commentators reference Mack Brown stepping down, his departure and anything having to do with it.
Anyone willing and able to step up to the challenge?
