Michigan Poaches New Offensive Coordinator From Alabama

Michigan Head Coach Brady Hoke needs some help if he is going to keep his job beyond next season. Wolverines fans are accustomed to winning and making it to the big bowl games--you know, the ones that come after New Year's Day.

It looks like he is taking a step in the right direction with his new offensive coordinator--Doug Nussmeier.

Don't know? That's alright. Most folks don't really know much about the coordinators until they are calling for them to be fired or rumors start to circulate that one of them is expected to fill a head coaching vacancy.

Nussmeier has been the man behind Alabama's offense the last two years. Yeah, the talent level there has been pretty high, but the chess pieces still have to be moved appropriately. For the Crimson Tide they were. Two years ago the team broke all sorts of school records on offense, and this year's group finished No. 17 in scoring.

Michigan's offense? It finished No. 46 in scoring, No. 102 in rushing, and No. 51 in passing.

Working with quarterbacks has been Nussmeier's speciality, and in Devin Gardner he has an incredibly talented on all be it a very raw one.

So with this hire Michigan fans got a good taste of what they need going in to the off-season--hope.
