Jerry Jones has been adamant in recent years that he will never turn over control of the day to day operations of his team to anyone. The buck stops with him so he might as well be the one making the call when it happens rather than do it from a distance.
There is a method to his madness that is understandable, but as a successful businessman you would think that he should know when to step aside and let someone more knowledgeable run the show. Instead he has redefined what mediocrity is.
So why after 25 years of owning America’s Team would he consider stepping aside and hiring a real general manager? In some recent comments a reflective Jones admitted making several mistakes over the years and almost sounded as if he might be ready for a change--if it will help the team win....
