In a recent interview with Jim Rome he touched on another subject--what it would have taken to get him to return for another year.

Players every year get in trouble for selling memorabilia and signing autographs for money. In some cases it is because they simply want the money, but in others it is so they can get by like any other college kid. When you consider the bundle that schools make off of merchandising alone it only seems fair that they get a bigger piece of the pie.
At the least they should not have to worry about having enough money to take care of the basics while they are in school.
Clowney talks about being paid well enough to take care of his family. Should that happen? Absolutely not. We are still talking about amateur athletics. Athletes should have every school expense covered as well as have a budget for anything extra school related (tutors, etc.) as well as an allowance.
Nothing crazy (because not every school can afford it), but something that will make it a lot easier for them to not feel the need to do something questionable.
Heck, let's be real Jadeveon. You are going to get paid millions next year. There is no way you would have given that up for one more year of school.
