When the New Orleans Pelicans started the 2013-14 NBA season they had someone new to introduce to the world--Pierre the Pelican, the team's mascot. Unlike other mascots he was not of the cute and cuddly variety. No, he was more of the scare the pants off of you and make you have nightmares variety.
But not anymore...

Apparently putting the fear of God in to kids and opponents everywhere was not want they wanted to do with the mascot so the team decided to give Pierre a makeover.
A more kid-friendly makeover.
I don't know. I get why they made the change, but I like the other better. Yeah, he was kind of creepy, but that was part of his charm. Oh well, goodbye scary life size Pelican.
