Kent State Running Back Dri Archer Turns in Blazing 40-Yard Dash; Just Misses Chris Johnson's Record

Kent State is not known for  being a football powerhouse. To be honest--the Golden Flashes are not very good, but it looks like the team's second most productive running back from last season could earn himself a cool $100K after turning in a blazing fast time in the 40-yard dash.

That is, assuming he wore the right cleats...

From Bleacher Report
Assuming Kent State running back Dri Archer ran the 40 in Adidas's Adizero 5-Star cleats he will have a pretty good shot at taking home the $100K prize that Adidas has offered to the player that runs the fastest time while wearing their product. In his first run (see above) he turned in a 4.29 40-time.

Not bad, right? Well, in his second he stepped it a notch and did even better--4.28! (okay, a small notch)

Those are unofficial times and I can't tell if he is wearing the Adizero 5-Stars, but I can't imagine why he would not have. He had to know he would be one of the fastest guys at the Combine. Being on the small side, coming from a lesser known program, and having not played a lot there he is not going to be taken high.

So winning a $100K could mean a lot more to him than some of the other guys.

UPDATE--His official best is 4.26 seconds; .02 off of the mark Chris Johnson set.
