When talking to Fox Sports recently he stated his desire to go with the top pick:
“I think I am the complete package. I can help a team right away win football games, playoff games and championships. It’s something that I always dreamed about. The teams that do pass on me will regret it.He didn't say anything we haven't heard before, and much like those other guys he has the resume to warrant consideration for the top pick. Over the course of the last two seasons he had 23.5 sacks and accounted for 41.5 tackles for a loss (that's pretty good in case you are wondering).
At 6'4" and 248 pounds he is definitely a physical specimen, but maybe a little on the small side when it comes to defending the run. Is he worth the No. 1 pick though?
Probably not.
He's a first rounder for sure, and should the Texans take him he would in time become a pretty vital piece to the team's success. If the Texans didn't need a quarterback so bad--maybe. The need is way too strong though.
There is no way Houston passes on a quarterback.
