Who the Heck is Jerick McKinnon? Steal of the Draft! That's Who!

Every year there is someone that comes out of nowhere to wow fans and evaluators at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. It's not that they were not any good. Maybe they were troubled by nagging injuries during the last season or maybe they played for a small school that never makes it on television. Who knows.

This year that guy appears to be Georgia Southern running back Jerick McKinnon.

From Bleacher Report
If it wasn't for Georgia Southern's upset win over Florida last season many college football fans would probably not know thee school had a team. That game McKinnon led the way with 125 yards and a touchdown; a total that was par for the course for the season for him (1050 yards, 12 touchdowns).

According to CBS Sports he is rated as the No. 17 running back in the draft (above De'Anthony Thomas) and a possible 6-7 round pick (which means he may or may not get drafted, but he'll be in camp for someone).

After smoking the competition with 4.41 40-yard dash and turning in one of the best bench press performances of the combine (32 reps) his chances of getting drafted have likely improved--at least a little.
