When the New York Yankees acquired Curtis Granderson from the Detroit Tigers they thought they were getting a talented outfielder with a deadly bat. Well--at least he was for one of the four seasons he played in pinstripes. So when his contract came up the Bronx Bombers let him go, but he didn't go far.
From the looks of Tuesday's spring training game with the Houston Astros the Mets are glad to have him on the roster (so far).

It is still too early to say whether he will be worth the $14 million the Mets are paying him this season, but after three games and seven at-bats he's batting .429 with two home runs (three hits total) and just one strike out.
