Indiana Pacers Going to Get in Trouble for Sitting Starting Five?

The Milwaukee Bucks are playing about as good as the Indiana Pacers lately--and that's not a good thing. The Bucks are the worst team in the league. However, in spite of the incredible offensive struggle the team is in the midst of Pacers head coach Frank Vogel is giving his starting five the day off Wednesday night.

So if you live in the Indianapolis area you might want to try and sell your tickets to someone that doesn't know so can still get something for them.

Since he's fielding his bench players tonight you have to wonder if Vogel and the Pacers are going to get in a little trouble with the league. When the Spurs did it last season against the Miami Heat they were sanctioned--and they only sat three starters for that game (and one reserve that plays a lot)!

Of course the circumstances are a little different in this case. That was a nationally televised game against the defending NBA champions. However, the same argument that was used than can still apply here.

Fans are still getting an inferior product or as Stern put it in the Spurs case San Antonio "did a did a disservice to the league and our fans."

This time around the game isn't early in the season, is not a marque match-up, and it might actually help the Pacers get back on track for the post season. So skipping a game and giving fans a glorified scrimmage could actually be providing fans a service in the end.

It will just suck for that paid money for this game.
