Jerry Jones Proves He’s All About the Benjamins

You would think that make Jerry Jones a little concerned over the state of his team. At one time the Cowboys were the picture of excellence; now--not so much.  As owner of the team—and one who has tasted Super Bowl glory—you would think he would want to do everything in his power to get his team back to the promise land.

Instead he’s perfectly happy cashing checks since his team is still wildly popular.

Here's what he had to say to the Dallas Morning News:
“As you know, the Cowboys have not gone to the playoffs in several years,” Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News. “We have not gone, yet we’re the most popular TV show there is on television. We lead all teams in TV ratings. We lead, 24 of the last top 25 shows were NFL games, and any time your Cowboys play they’re up there at the top and leading. Now, what causes that? What causes that is creating some aura, creating some excitement.”
What he fails to realize though is that the aura is not a positive one. People are watching just as much to see the Cowboys lose as they are to see them win. They also want to see how the 'Boys are going to implode next.

It's not too unlike watching an MTV reality television show--train wrecks, but popular none the less.
