Baylor Kicks Former 4/5 Star Recruit WR Robbie Rhodes Off Team For Second Failed Drug Test

The story of Baylor wide receiver--or rather former Baylor wide receiver--Robbie Rhodes is a sad one. A four or five star recruit (depending on which site you looked at) he was in the perfect place to show case his talent for the NFL--the pass happy attack of the Big 12's newest powerhouse, the Baylor Bears.

He was going to take on a big role in the offense next season--yes, was. He's been kicked off the team because of one too many failed drug test.

ESPN's David Smoak tweeted the news out to the world Monday evening:

Last season he had just 10 receptions for 157 yards, but this year was going to be his year. Now he'll have to see who is willing to take someone that knew he was in danger of losing his scholarship, but decided to go ahead smoke a little marijuana anyway.

It's a loss for the Bears, but the team is loaded with talent and will be fine. Hopefully Rhodes can learn from his mistake, pick up the pieces, and still have a nice career.

It will just have to be somewhere else.
