Jozy Altidore Out for Sunday's USMNT Match Against Portugal; Possibly for the World Cup

USMNT coach Jurgen Klinsmann went from being skeptical about his team's chances in the World Cup going in to the tournament, but changed his tune a little after his team beat Ghana 2-1. However, after getting some bad news ahead of Sunday's game against Portugal you have to wonder if he's back to being a skeptic again.

What's the bad news? Jozy Altidore is out for the game and possibly for the Cup.

Early in the first half of the Ghana game Altidore went down with a hamstring injury. Officially it has been diagnosed as a hamstring strain. There was hope that he might be able to go against Portugal, but that is not the case:

Depending on the grade a hamstring strain can take anywhere from 10 days to more than three months to recover. From the look on his face when it happened it appeared to be pretty severe, but the team has yet to announce the severity of the strain.

While he is one of the best players on the roster the team managed to do just fine without him against Ghana so fans will have to hope the good times can keep rolling.
