WATCH: Seahawks DB Richard Sherman and WR Phil Bates Fight During Practice

Seattle Seahawks defensive back Richard Sherman is known for being a fiery, take no BS but give out a lot kind of guy and proved it once again in practice Wednesday when he got in to it with wide receiver Phil Bates.

Blogs and news sites were initially reporting that it was Percy Harvin Sherman fought with, but Harvin along with Marshawn Lynch and Earl Thomas broke the mess up.

Coaches can be kind of strange when it comes to their players fighting in practice. On one hand it shows that they are intense, fierce competitors that are not happy about losing. On the other it shows that they lack self control and could cost their team dearly when it matters most.

I've never understood the appeal of hitting a hard helmet with my fist; kind of hurts and really doesn't do you any good.

Anyway....here's a clip of the action:

Like most gridiron warriors, the two hugged it out later and were seen laughing about it:

No word yet on whether any 'you hit softer than Michael Crabtree' jokes were made--because that would be just plain wrong.
