NAIA Football Program Signs First Female Non-Kicker to Recruiting Class

There have been women that have played college football in the past. As far as I know they have always been walk-on kickers (could be wrong; not exactly a lot of info on this subject). While it isn't outlawed, women just aren't seen as being physically able to play with the big boys.

It appears that one school--Campbellsville University--has found one that is. They are so sure of it that they had her officially commit to the school and become a part of their recruiting class!

Her name is Shelbylynn Osborne and she is a cornerback for Jeffersonville HS (not sure where; maybe Kentucky since that's where Campbellsville is located).

There isn't much on YouTube of her playing so it is hard to judge how good she is. Since a school wanted to go through the process of signing her I'm going to assume she must be pretty decent.

While a college signing a female football player is pretty cool, what is really cool about this is the amount of support she has received from people online:

With a Twitter handle like hers--@WontQuitTillDie--you know her new team is going to get her absolute best effort. I for one look forward to seeing a clip on YouTube of her laying some wide receiver out.

Best of luck to you young lady and congratulations.
