WATCH: Brazil Scores First Own Goal in World Cup History

One of the cool things about hosting the World Cup is that you get to play first and usually against an opponent you should beat. Sure enough--Brazil is heavily favored against Croatia. It looks like the home team is going to have to work from behind though.

Early in the game Marcelo accidentally kicked the ball past his own goalie giving Croatia a 1-0 lead.

To make matters worse it was the first time in World Cup history that a Brazilian player scored an own goal.

Not a great way to start the tournament off for the home team.
