WATCH: A Whole Lot of Stompig Going on in England/New Zealand Rugby Match

There is so much that can be said about this image from Saturday's match between England and New Zealand. High school coaches (heck--every level for that matter) will be quick to point out how the New Zealand side (guys in the black) bound in to the ball carrier to form the ruck. Collapsing the maul like the English player did--not good (yellow card for dangerous play).

But there is one part that Americans and others not familiar with the game will take notice of rather quick.

The play started off as a maul but turned in to a ruck when one of the English players collapsed it (for which he received a yellow card for). As the play continues take notice of the English fullback (No. 15). When he climbs out of the mess he stomps on one of the New Zealand players!

He wasn;t the only one that did a little stomping on the play. One of the New Zealand flankers (No. 6) stomped on one of the English guys. Here's the great part--it's legal!

If it's done simply to hurt it isn't (dangerous play), but as long as they are not kicking and it is apparent they are simply trying to free the ball they are in the clear.
