Acquiring Rolando McClain Might Not be as Stupid as it Appears for the Dallas Cowboys

When the news broke that the Dallas Cowboys traded a draft pick (doesn't matter what pick; could be the 289th round and it would still be a stupid move) to the Baltimore Ravens for retired linebacker Rolando McClain and a subsequent draft pick the world scoffed.

Here Jerry Jones goes again making a completely moronic move in some strange and bizarre way to try and prove he knows football.

As it turns out the world is right and wrong. Yes, Jerry is trying to prove how smart he is, but he didn't exactly put much on the line.

Dallas could use a linebacker. At one time in the not too distant past McClain was one of the best the college ranks had to offer. A few arrests, a couple retirements, and an inability to put forth any effort the last time he was given a shot and he looks like the longest of long shots.

But--should he return to form the Cowboys will get something they need. If he doesn't or if old habits surface they can cut him with practically no loss.

After all the gambles Jerry has taken one is bound to pay off so maybe this will be the one.
