Michigan needed to win against Appalachian State Saturday and not just because it meant the team would start the season 1-0. They needed it for pride, but most of all for revenge. Fans know all too well about the epic loss to Appalachian State a few years ago. They've lived with and dealt with the jokes their Ohio State friends have made every day since that fateful contest.
So they did what they needed to Saturday and destroyed the Mountaineers. That being said--the best catch of the day and certainly the most fresh to def play of the season so far belongs to someone from the losing side--wide receiver Simms McElfresh.
No word yet on whether he is McLovin's cousin, but it wouldn't surprise me if that is the case.
