Denver Columnist Called Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl Win a Fluke After Broncos Preseason Win

In recent years fans have been treated to close, well-played games in the Super Bowl--but not last year. The Denver Broncos were absolutely crushed in every aspect of the game by the Seattle Seahawks. It was so bad at times it had to be a little embarrassing.

But according to one Denver columnist after the Broncos beat the Seahawks 21-16 in preseason action it was just a fluke.

@RantSports
The writer, Mike Klis of the Denver Post, recognized that the preseason is far from being comparable to the Super Bowl, but found the way the Broncos stood up to the 'bullying' Seahawks and landed a 'punch or two' as encouraging.

Okay--nothing wrong with that. Where this guy veers off in to crazy town was when he said this:
“At the very least, the Broncos may have proved to themselves, if not quite the rest of the NFL, that the 43-8 whipping they took from the Seahawks back in February was somewhat fluky.”
Go ahead and laugh now. I can wait.

I think the rest of the NFL is aware that many of the guys that played in the Super Bowl saw little to no time during last week's game (because it is preseason). They also know that most of the guys that did play saw little to no time in the Super Bowl, and many will not even be on the roster in a couple weeks.

The know that a preseason game between any two teams means nothing.

There is only one thing that is ever proven in the preseason, and that is that player X, Y, and Z that you've never heard of deserve a roster spot.

That's it.
