Preseason Play of the Week: San Francisco 49ers WR Quinton Patton and the Best First Down Ever!

Most folks don't care for preseason, but I kind of dig it. Yes, the football is second rate, but you tend to get one thing in preseason games that you don't always get in the regular season--passion. Not just any passion now. I'm talking about the kind of passion that says I am so fu****g happy to be here that I just have to take my helmet off and scream it to the world.

Typically guys will wait till thy do something big to do it (in the regular season), but in the preseason there doesn't need to be much of a reason. Heck--San Francisco 49ers second year wide receiver Quinton Patton just needed a completed pass and getting his head knocked off.

The catch, the helmet flying, and the first down wasn't the best part of the play. This was:

The ref was too busy laughing to pull the flag on him for excessive celebration. Either that or maybe he knows Patton is getting cut this week and he just wanted to give him his Jerry Maguire moment (minus the game-winning touchdown).
