Seattle's 12th Man Comes Through in the Clutch for Recently Unemployed Chicago Bears Fan

Maybe you've never been in this position, but chances are you have known someone who has been. You are new in town, you've lost your job, and you are in a position where you need to sell things in order to make ends meet while you look for another job. You may not want to sell anything--but you have to.

That's what happened to a young couple in the Seattle area recently, but thanks to the 12th Man for at least a night they can rest easy and smile.

The Johnson's, Brett and Joyce, moved to the Seattle area to raise a family, but with a few months of moving there Brett ended up losing his job. Like many folks the couple lived paycheck to paycheck so this was definitely reason to worry.

One thing they knew they could not do was go to next week's Bears/Seahawks game. An avid Bears fan, it would have been a great chance to watch his team and the Super Bowl champs, but the cost of going to the game was to great after losing a paycheck.

So they did the smart thing and put them up for sale on a local site, but rather than see a member of the 12th Man snatch them up for a song they got a different kind of response. People started offering to donate money to the couple so they could still enjoy the game.

Joyce's sister started a page at YouCaring.com to organize the donations. The couple ended up collecting $250.

"I mean we were trying to make the responsible choice and it was just, I can't...my husband smiled for the first time yesterday since he lost his job and it was amazing."

If you have ever struggled to make ends meet than you know exactly how Brett must be feeling after losing his job. With a four-month old counting on him--well, that just makes it even worse.

So to get a gift like this from the community--from people that don't know him and his family and have no reason to care who they are-- is incredible to say the least.

Well done 12th Man. Well done indeed.
