Should Pittsburgh Steelers Fans Be Concerned About Ben Roethlisberger and the Offense?

The focus was not there for the Pittsburgh Steelers offense Thursday night. Was is because of the trouble their two top running backs got in? Was it something else? Or were they simply outplayed by the better team (the Philadelphia Eagles)?

Or is this just another example of too much weight being given to preseason play?

Ask a Steelers fan and they will probably say it was just a preseason game, and that Roethlisberger did lead the team on a beauty of a drive before exiting the game.

Now if you are in Steeler Country you may not want to point out that Big Ben's touchdown drive came against the Eagles second team defense. You may also not want to point out that when he was playing against the first team Eagles defense he looked more like this:

The lack of a running game certainly hurt the offense. When a defense knows you can't run the ball it makes their job so much easier. Was that issue because of the trouble LaGarette Blount and Le'Veon Bell got in? From the look of things Thursday night fans can only hope so.

Next week will not exactly shore things up or the offense since most of the starters will see little to no time, but the Steelers do have one thing working in their favor. In Week One they play the Cleveland Browns.

If they can't get a few things right against the Browns....
