Teams need to have guys with motors that never stop; guys like Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather. Like all good safeties he's capable of coming up and defending against he run just as much as dropping in to coverage. Should opportunity arise for him to put a lick on someone he most definitely will.
He did Saturday night, but he ended up hurting the team (and his bank account) more than helping it since he led with his dang head.

Lead with your head like he did early in the game when he smacked Bernard Pierce in the backfield and later in the game when he nailed Torrey Smith as he was coming across the middle of the field and you are asking for and deserve a penalty.
Not only that, but after doing it twice he can pretty much count on getting a note from the league with a fine.

Maybe what the league should do to keep guys from leading with their helmets like this is up the ante on the fine. Rather than the pittance that the league hands down now they should fine them a base amount if the player they hit does not get a concussion, but if he does fine them an amount equivalent to what the injured player earns per game for every game that player misses. Make them feel the pain and maybe they'll try to play better football.
