WATCH: San Francisco 49ers Safety D.J. Campbell Knocks Chargers WR Torrance Allen Silly

With the regular season and cuts right around the corner we are starting to see some guys amp up the intensity during these preseason games. Next week it will be back down a bit with pretty much every starter taking a seat, but this past weekend's slate of games had some real slober-knocker kind of hits in them.

Like this one in Sunday's 49ers/Chargers game laid on San Diego wide receiver Torrance Allen by San Francisco safety D.J. Campbell.

What makes plays like this even better is that both players will get a positive grade from their coaches when the film is reviewed. Campbell made sure the wide receiver will not want to come in his zone again and kept the gain to a minimal. Allen made the catch and held on to the ball.

Well done gentlemen. Well done indeed.
