BYU Player Ejected for Throwing Punch That Doesn't Connect [UPDATED]

Athletes that decide to attend BYU know that they can't do things that their buddies at other colleges do. With the strict code of conduct (compared to most colleges) the university has in place guys really have to toe the line. That being said, the refs working the BYU-Houston game must have been a little confused and thought they were supposed to call the game harder against the Cougars.

How else can you explain a guy getting ejected for throwing a punch that doesn't actually hit anyone?

The air puncher in question is Tejan Koroma and it's safe to say he was a little surprised by the penalty.

Don't worry man. So are we.

[UPDATE, 9/16]

The ejection and subsequent suspension in the next game has been rescinded. Koroma will be playing for the Cougars against UVA. (Reddit)
