Kirk Cousins Has Now Made Life a Lot Harder on Washington Redskins Head Coach Jay Gruden

Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden has been mulling over a tough decision in the back of his mind. From what he has seen prior to Thursday night's game against the New York Giants Kirk Cousins is the better of the quarterbacks on his roster. He was solid against Jacksonville and looked great throwing for more than 400 yards against Philadelphia. With every good game the decision of who to start once Robert Griffin III becomes healthy becomes easier.

However, after a horrible game against the Giants Thursday night Gruden might as well be back at step one.

Some would think that benching RG3 and/or trading him is nuts, but it is not outside of the realm of possibility. Gruden is not married to him. He didn't draft him and even though the team gave up a lot to get him that was a decision by the last administration.

The only reason why he should suppport it is if RG3 gives him cause. So far he hasn't.

Up until Thursday night's game Kirk Cousins had been great, but with four interceptions in the second half alone a lot of the good will his 400+ yard game earned him goes away.

Cousins can say that the team is RG3's all day long, but being the competitor that he is you know he wants to start and will welcome the chance to be the full time starter. However, if Gruden is going to make a switch he is going to need to have a solid case to do so.

Prior to Thursday night he had the start of one forming, but now--not so much.
