The FatManWriting Little League Catch of the Year [VIDEO]

These days it seems that the majority of the news in the wide world of sports is negative. If a story is not about someone beating their girlfriend/wife, driving drunk, swearing he didn't take performance enhancing drugs (just recreational ones), or simply being a bad sport and trashing a teammate, coach, or opponent it doesn't make the news.

That just sucks. So in an effort to get back to the joy of the game we here at FatManWriting have decided to recognize a catch that we feel personifies what sports should be--pure happiness.

The play in question occured during a little league in New York; Staten Island I believe and was even named the catch of the year for the league. When you press play you'll be able to see why. From the sound of the bat you can tell it was a heck of a hit.

Or it would have been had young Jace Giambrone not caught it!

It is a fantastic catch, but that is not the only reason why we are recognizing it here at FatManWriting. Sports should be fun an all about good times,  and from the swagger in his walk following the catch you can tell that Jace is smiling bigger than the Cheshire Cat.

But that's not all.

At the tail end of the clip you can see where Jace points at someone in the stands--his dad. At that moment you know that Dad's smile grew even bigger than it already was.

Moments like that are what the game is all about; pure happiness on the field and in the stands.

Well done young Jace. Well done indeed.
