Houston Texans Owner Providing Note For Fans to Get Out of Work Early for Thursday Night Game

The Houston Texans are in a position that few expected them to be in at this point in the season--in sole possession of first place in the division. They've played well against the Cowboys last week, but still came away with a loss. This week they hope to bounce back with a win, but it will not be easy against the Indianapolis Colts.

With the game being played on a short week and on national television the team will need a boost from the fans. Since the game is on a workday Texans owner Bob McNair wants to help fans get to the stadium on time.

Is he sending his private jet? Will he be paying for traffic citations? Does he have a portable transporter beam?

Nope--but he will give you a note to give to your boss. Here is what it says:
To Whom It May Concern:
Please excuse ___________ from work early on Thursday, October 9th. We understand that the loss of said employee may hurt productivity, but Thursday night’s Houston Texans game versus the Indianapolis Colts is a very important game this season. The winner will hold 1st place in our division. We want the full support of the city of Houston and don’t want people to have to feel rushed on their way to NRG stadium, their house or wherever they choose to watch the game.
We also think, leading by example is always a good thing. Take a #TexansHalfDay yourself and help cheer on the team. Go Texans!
