Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan Pranks Bills WR Sammy Watkins During Conference Call With the Press

After a slow start to the season Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver Sammy Watkins is becoming the game-changing play-maker the Bills hoped he would be. He is definitely the kind of player that New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan is not looking forward to playing come game time on Sunday. As the head coach of the opposition there is only one thing he can really do--game plan to stop him.

However, Ryan thought he would try a more direct approach first. He'd simply ask Watkins not to play.

While on the way to his own press conference Ryan walked by the room where some local reporters were on a conference call with Watkins. Rather than keep going he decided to stop and ask a question or two himself (via NJ.com):
"Sammy, I got a question," Ryan began. "How did you help Seth Ryan out[his son and a teammate of Watkins at Clemson]? How'd he do out there? And if you could really help him, you wouldn't play this game. This sounds like Rex Ryan—I know it does—but this is a reporter."
There was a pause.
"How you doing, Sammy? You all right?" Ryan asked.
There was laughter from the reporters in the room at Jets HQ.
"Hey, how you doing?" a confused Watkins responded.
With that Ryan left the room thoroughly entertained and Watkins just a little bit confused.

Now if Rex can get his defense to confuse him as much on Sunday the Jets just might have a chance.
