Marlins Fan at World Series Gives Up Seat to Navy Singer After God Bless America Snafu

When Petty Officer Steven Powell was asked to sing God Bless America at Game 3 of the World Series in San Francisco he probably thought it would be pretty cool. He probably never thought that people would be talking more about the microphone not working than his singing. To his credit he never missed a beat, but it still has to suck for something like that to happen in front of thousands of people.

It would be enough to bring most people down. Perhaps that is why the Marlins Fan that has been perched behind home plate for every game of the Series gave up his seat to him.

Or perhaps he was just showing a member of the Armed Forces some much deserved love. Who knows why he did it, but the important--and very cool thing is that he did.

Here he is having a good laugh after a fan sitting in front of him jumps when the ball hits the net:

Well done gentlemen. Well done indeed.
