Ohio State Field Invader Slammed by an Assistant Coach Has Lost His Scholarship

If you ever needed a reason not to jump out of the stands and attempt to streak during a football game let the tale of the young Ohio State student that was slammed by an assistant coach discourage. Yes, the slam looked like it hurt, but as it turns out that was the least of the pain he's going to feel because of his ill-advised desire to exercise.

According to his lawyer he's lost his scholarship, but it wasn't just any scholarship.

He had a full-ride.

For some crazy reason (possibly alcohol induced) this student (not using his name; no desire in extending his 15 seconds of fame here) decided to jump out of the stands during Saturday's Cincinnati/Ohio State game. He was promptly wrangled by an assistant coach, slammed to the ground, and dragged off the field.

At the time it probably did sound like a good idea; something funny his friends would get a kick out of. The internet fame was probably nice too, but that is just about gone now.

Now he gets to live in the aftermath of his brief moment of stupidty--fines, loss of a full-ride scholarship, mom and dad's anger at having to pay for school now, etc. If mom and dad can't pay for it he'll have to take out student loans and posibly even get a job.

Hmmm...wonder what he'll think about his brief moment of internet fame in 20 years when he finishes paying off his loans...
