Ronnie Hillman Puts His Stamp on Broncos Running Back Job and 49ers LB Chris Borland

The last few years the Denver Broncos have had a knack like no other team of going through running backs, but finding guys that can still carry the rock. Some would say that has nothing to do with the running backs, but that the offensive line can make anyone look good. Others will say that the team is lucky to have so many quality backs.

Sunday night another one was put to the test--a third-year running back out of San Diego State by the name of Ronnie Hillman.

So--did he pass the test? Should the Broncos give him another chance? Should fantasy owners hit the waiver wire to pick him up? Ummm....

Yes,

Running backs in Denver get the benefit of going against a defense that is spread out in a vain attempt to slow down the Peyton Manning passing attack, but they still have to do the hard work themselves.

Hillman did just that against a good 49ers defense rushing for 74 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries and tacking on another 29 yards on four receptions. He didn't just take advantage of working in space too, When need be he was more than capable of smacking defenders around and plowing right over them.

Just ask 49ers linebacker Chris Borland (see above).
