What Denver Broncos GM John Elway Was Thinking When Peyton Manning Threw TD No. 509

Shortly after his quarterback set the new career touchdown pass mark Denver Broncos general manager and executive vice president John Elway was spotted giving a nice clap in his box. More than likely he was just giving credit where credit was due, but it looks like there may be something else brewing underneath.

It appears like his clapping might have been subdued because he was deep in thought or something.

What on Earth could be be thinking during one of the greatest single moments in franchise history? Let's speculate:

  • Did I set my DVR to record Madam Secretary and Revenge?
  • I hope my wife didn't erase the new Simpson's Treehouse of Horrors on me. I hadn't finished it yet.
  • Should have been me.
  • We are going to sell a ton of No. 509 t-shirts.
  • Man I'm glad his neck is holding up.
  • We are going to suck when he finally retires.
  • I wonder if Letterman is going to have him on for some stupid top 10 list now.
and my favorite:
  • I bet I could still play (shoulder creaks). Eh--*uck it. This general manager crap is easy money.
