California RB Daniel Lasco Having a Breakout Year for the Golden Bears [GIFs]

Last season Daniel Lasco was one of a few that got carries in the Cal backfield and while he did well with the playing time he had (67 carries, 317 yards, 2 TDs; 11 receptions for 78 yards) it wasn't enough to warrant more playing time.

This season, however, is a different story.

This season the coaches have been giving him more time in the backfield and he has made the most of it rushing the ball 147 times for 796 yards and 10 touchdowns. He has even factored in to the passing game more catching 27 balls for 324 yards and two touchdowns.

And the kid's moves are not bad either:

As a junior he could opt for the draft at the end of the season, but after just one good season--and one that was not highly visible to much of the nation since Cal played primarily on regional televesion--it's more likely he'll be back.

Should that be the case fans of the Golden Bears will certainly have something to look forward to.
