Not only is his hair always in place, but his priorities are straight as well. He got the chance to prove just that after the loss to Texas last Saturday.

@TTUKingsbury tracked me down after the game + said "Nate, thanks for what you do..." After a tough loss that's pretty Damn classy. Good guy

Boyer was in the Green Berets prior to walking on at Texas and was recently awarded a scholarship.
You would think a coach would track down a player he had tried to recruit or maybe someone whose play had seriously impressed him, but not Kingsbury. He tracks down a guy that played a handful of snaps at a position most people ignore unless he messes up to say thanks for his service to our country.
Moms already like him for his looks, but things like that will win over a lot of dads.

Thank you for this article. The alumni at Texas Tech love this coach and know he will be successful. We just have to wait our time out. He is a great person and we are proud of him, the other coaches, the team and the student body!
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure. Sure wish we still had him at Texas A&M but going back to TTU was definitely an opportunity he could not pass up.
