Former Alabama FB Le'Ron McClain Arrested on Drug Trafficking Charges

Next time he stands in front of the press Alabama head coach Nick Saban is going to want to talk about the team and what it is preparing to do against LSU this coming Saturday, but he is going to end up talking about something else. Well--or at least he'll be asked.

There is no telling if he'll offer an opinion about a former Alabama player getting busted for drug trafficking.

Le'Ron McClain entered the NFL prior to Saban taking over Alabama in 2007 and played for seven seasons, but has been a free agent since getting cut by the Chargers in March. It seems that in his down time rather than work on getting in better shape to play he has been dealing synthetic marijuana, or spice.

After finding 122 grams of the drug during the course of another investigation a warrant was issued for his arrest. Police went to his house to serve, but his mother said he had left the state.

A few hours later he was found, arrested, and booked.

I think it is safe to say his agent can go ahead and drop him as a client--if he already hasn't.
