What did he do? He linked the busiest shopping day of the year--Black Friday--to slavery.

The post has come down already, but like anything that ever makes it online it is not truly gone. The New York Daily News has shared the caption he included with a picture depicting a slave auction in progress:
DID YOU KNOW: Black Friday stemmed from slavery? It was the day after Thanksgiving when slave traders would sell slaves for a discount to assist plantation owners with more helpers for the upcoming winter (for cutting and stacking fire wood, winterproofing etc.), hence the name.Yes, he actually posted that.
The people that were able to comment before the post was deleted did one of two thing: (1) told him the real reason why it is called 'Black Friday' and (2) called him an idiot in really colorful ways.
Don't worry J.R.. Someone else is bound to do something stupid soon and this will all blow over. Till then--stay away from social media. It isn't going to be pretty.
I know he would hate posting anything about the way blacks was treated knowing his bread, milk, and honey come from The Caucasians. J.R just can't be talking about the hand that feeds him.
ReplyDeleteYes. That is why he's an idiot. NOT because he was completely WRONG and he made himself look like an ass...again. Kind of the way YOU just did.
