Penn State is Truly 'Balanced' When it Comes to the Running Game

Every coach has a different philosophy. Some are totally fine with being a great running team and a terrible passing team. Others prefer the pass and could care less about the run. Some go a little crazy and even like it when a team has what is called a balanced attack.

Typically a balanced attack means that you run as much as you pass and you are effective at both, but in Penn State's case it's a little different.

There offense is not balanced, but as far as the running game goes they are as balanced as they come.

So far this season he Nittany Lions have run the ball 269 times and gained 617 yards. Their opponents have also run the ball 269 times and gained--you guessed it--617 yards.

It's not exactly the kind of balance you want to have since it means you are a great at one and bad at the other, but in a way it is still 'balanced.'
