Sean Salisbury May Not Have Been Hired By Family of Texas A&M QB Kenny Hill After All [UPDATED]

Fans of Texas A&M quarterback Kenny Hill were on the receiving end of some good news. It seems that the young quarterback was going to get some help with his on and off field development from former NFL quarterback and ESPN commentator Sean Salisbury. It would have been better to hear George Whitfield Jr, was going to be involved, but it was still good news.

But now it appears that it may all be a lie.

Salisbury broke the news himself during a radio appearance Wednesday and it immediately spread to ever corner of the virtual universe. According to him a family friend hooked him up with Kenny's dad, the two talked, and an agreement of some kind was reached with plans to get started Saturday while the team is playing Auburn.

Now it is being reported by SportsDayDFW that a 'source' is saying no such talk ever took place, there is no agreement between Salisbury and Kenny's family, and that the family is more than happy with the coaching their son is receiving in College Station.

WTF?

When approached with this news Salisbury stuck to his guns and said he could produce documented proof if anyone wants it, i.e. text conversations with Kenny's dad about bring Kenny to Houston this weekend and another from A&M offensive coordinator Jake Spavital about how Kenny's family is fired up.

Talk about ridiculous. This is something that should be pretty simple yet instead it is being turned in to another drama that no one needs. This should be pretty easy to check on.

So--Kenny. What in the world is going on man?

[UPDATED, 11/6 @ 15:43]

When in doubt just talk to Dad (via Sports247):
Here’s the deal,” said Ken Hill Sr., the father of the sophomore quarterback and a former major league pitcher himself. “Mutual friends of ours contacted me about talking to Sean and about talking with Kenny about the trials and tribulations that he (Salisbury) has been through, and then talk to Kenny and help him overcome his issues.”
“People are speculating that we were going outside of Spav (Jake Spavital, A&M’s offensive coordinator)” he said. “If it looks like that, that was not my intention. Sean has a kid there and another kid who went there. The guy we spoke to highly recommended him. I had a conversation with Sean, he got on the radio, and that’s how this started”.
So it sounds like it could happen, but nothing is set in stone just yet.  Salisbury just jumped the gun by talking about it too soon.
